plants

Yesterday my dad and I went to a garden and art show. We bought two tomatoe plants, a bell pepper, banana pepper, some pretty flowers, and these plants called cobwebs that are really cool. My dad picked out a neat tree I had never seen before. It's called a smoke tree, it has pretty red/purple leaves and when it blooms white flowers come out of the top like smoke! A nice old lady gave me a jade plant too.

When we got home I planted them! I can't wait for the flowers and cobwebs to spread all over out rock wall and for the tomatoes to come. They are one of my favorite fruits

The picture is of a cobweb not the kind I planted but an actual one from a spider. What is the difference between a spiderweb and a cobweb?

I'd like to be, Under the sea, in an octopus's garden with you!

this is thaddeus. The tour guide for the aquarium . I love him. Haha
Jenny and I both want this bike! Sooooo amazing.
Shnazzy 3d glasses =D
Surprise!!!!

I love the light in this one. Jenny's so pretty =)
Overall the aquarium trip was so fun! I loved seeing the fish. And meeting Thaddeus. It was a good day.

*sigh*

I'm back on track now. I mean, I'm still overwhelmed...but I feel better about it =) I found the most fantastic photographer today! A man comes to a dance camp I go to every year and has a booth. EVERY year I forget his name. But I found him online this week. His name is Martin O' Connor : Website- http://www.martinoconnorphoto.com/ I love how he captures human motion!
Another thing, don't you love the Beatles? I took this picture:

And thought of "All my lovin'" 's lyrics "Close your eyes and I'll kiss you..." Lovely song!
Overall, I'm really exhausted...AND I'm REALLY craving summer. Also, I need to thrift before the end of May...or I'll go crazy. =D So have an absolutely WONDERFUL weekend, friends!

Sunday morning...rain is falling

We sat under this gorgeously green tree while waiting for my dad to pick me up.

This is a picture I took of Jen from four bridges-what fun. Today was a wonderful Sunday. Sundays always calm me down and get me ready for the week. Tomorrow's going to be tough, since I was off school Thursday and Friday due to wisdom teeth. Tonight, my pastor talked about prayer. It was very interesting. He said something that really struck me -"When you live a careless life, your prayers are powerless." This is difficult to understand...but it did make me think about how I act throughout the week. Do I really THINK about God? Am I in continual communication with Him throughout the day? He also talked about KINDS of prayer. I mean there are BUNCHES but the two main ones we touched on were Adoration and Intercession. During the first part of the lesson I thought to myself Sure, I talk to God all the time! but after he mentioned the two KINDS of prayer I realized Oooh...I'm always talking to God...I'm always asking for stuff. Adoration really is important. God is so worthy of our praise, and could never be praised enough.
Anyway, those things were just on my mind. So, my goal for this week: KEEP GOD IN MY THOUGHTS. not just like "hey, Jesus, I really would LOVE to not have to take this test tomorrow..." but REALLY talk to Him AND give Him the praise due as well.

Have a wonderful week!

Today is day 3 of 6 wisdom teeth removal recovery days. I am all swollen like a chipmunk! I walked around with Jenny today at an art festival! It was really fun to see all the different styles and mediums used. Jen and I both absolutely LOVED Lisa Norris' work. So vintage.
( http://madebyonegirl.com/index.html ) -website! check her out.
Anywho, it was fun, even though I was the only chipmunk there. I AM looking forward to a summer filled with time to devote to all the art projects in my mind. Right now, I have to concentrate on getting better...oh AND studying for an Art History test (oh joy!).
Oh, also, you should totally go to myspace music and look up Courtney Marie Andrews. She's pretty much amazing.

Alrighty, happy saturday!

all the makings for a wonderful day!

It was a dark and stormy...day?

Last Friday, Jenny and I were sitting crocheting in my favorite coffee shop in the world (Starbucks). The winds were pretty strong...and yes, we were kinda wondering what was going on. We laughed it off, saying "Wouldn't it be funny if there actually WAS a tornado?". Ironically enough, at that moment, I overheard the lady behind the desk talking about how there was a tornado warning.
There were some strong winds and some trees came down...but not much harm was done. A lot of people ran in the building though, including a family with two little girls (one of which was named Emily...how confusing). The little girls kept walking by and staring a Jen and I...because we were crocheting. The only thing that could've made that little outing better was better music. Now, don't get me wrong...I LOVE Starbucks' music. But this day they were not playing their best selections.
I asked my brother (who works there) to find Volume One (She & Him) to play...but he couldn't. We compromised with Andrew Bird. You gotta love a hippie who plays violin =D
Jenny and I crocheted some adorable little hats. I'm going to post pictures! I'm glad to have someone cool to do crafty things with! Have a great day!
