Take Away Shows

I think I might've mentioned take-away-shows before...but they're worth watching more than once.

LeBlogotheque. Amazing. They take wonderful musicians and have them play around Paris.

Enjoy!

Perfect

That's today. It was perfect. That picture is basically an outtake from my 365 for today. I got so many mosquito bites. I was singing in the garden.
Have a good monday!

Selfish

This post is me talking out silly thoughts. I think they all sound self-centered.

I have learned how to see. I credit this to my Drawing and Photography teachers. Mr. Wood opened my eyes to the world around me. Now I see art in every nook and cranny of the universe. (unknowingly, he made me appreciate God's creation more than ever)
Mr. Page showed me how to run my eyes along the edges of things...essentially to feel things out with my eyes.
Weird? Maybe.
It is kind of strange...but really wonderful at the same time.
When I look at a person's face, I see the angles and lines of it. I look into their eyes I see wonderful tones. I've come to just observe more. It is weird how much body language and such says about a person. I've found out that you can really get to know a person in a short while. Look at how they stand and listen to their voice. But also, look them in the eyes. The eyes are said to be the "window to your soul". I really do believe this...So if I talk to you, and I look you straight in the face, don't be intimidated...I'm just studying you to get to know you.
Sorry.
I'm going to clean my room now.
Jenny is coming over tomorrow!
And then leaving for camp...for the whole summer. *sigh*

Oh when you go on a date,

you put on a shirt! And ride your bike to the dattttte!

WELL. Basically, I tried to upload pictures to here, but blogger was being dumb.
I woke up less than an hour ago. Last night I stayed up super late reading Sherlock Holmes.
Mmm So brilliant.
Anyway, I'm sitting here, drinking coffee, eating scones, and listening to Liszt. So nice.

Project for this week: Romper...remember?

Also, I started a 365. That means one picture a day. So yeah if you want to follow the progress of that, look in the left-hand corner of my blog. The "photos" thing is my Flickr.

Life is very nice as of now. I am finishing theory today! Julie and I are going to make shirts! And, today Jenny and I are signing up for classes! We're taking comp. together...and hopefully eating together and such. So yeah! Yay for planning! and painting is going well too. Summer just feels good.
Have a good Tuesday, I sure am.
By the way, random title, from Hot Rod.

Life is one grand, sweet song, so start the music.

On Tuesday, I was fortunate enough to see my friend Bethany play her Senior concert. It was quite breathtaking.

I absolutely love Coldplay. My current favorite song by them is called Postcards from Far Away. It's from their album Prospekt's March. ♥
I was listening to Sparks today and some of the lyrics are just...great. Particularly the part that says "My heart is yours, you're what I hold on to. That's what I do. And I know I was wrong. But I won't let you down...Yeah I will, yes I will. you know I will." It's so true to life. I mean, however perfect we try to be, we will always "fall short" in someway. Just something.

I had to repost this

Another fabulous musician from Phoenix. Definitely as good as Andrew Bird.

Have a good tomorrow! I'm making a romper tomorrow. Wish me luck.

You've got a friend in me.

So I decided to do a little study on the word "friend"
Just because.

So here is the official dictionary definition:
a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard.
That's reasonable.
Here's what "friend" has come to mean:
A real friend is someone who:

a)it's okay to fart in front of.

b)you don't mind talking to on the bus for atleast 20 minutes.

c)can borrow $5 and never has to pay it back

d)you'll actually call up do stuff.
Bob: "Hey Jim, you wanna go see a show downtown"
Jim: "Sorry man, I'm broke, and how are we gonna get there."
Bob: "No problem, I'll lend you the 5 bucks and we'll take the bus."
Jim: "Yeah, okay" (loud farting sound)
Bob: "Whoah! That was a good one!

Bob and Jim are friends.
Wow. Really?!
Thanks urban Dictionary.

On a different note.
After this Saturday, all my responsibilities will be GONE!
Love.
I am going to blog more often. I promise.
Project this week: Scrapbook thing for Bethany, dear.

Project update. BAM

I made this shirt on wed/thursday.
It was an old RUSH fitness shirt. Anywho, I tea-dyed it! That was awesome. I just have to put a lace inset on the back and it will be finished.
Okay! BYE!

Oh Mary, I think of your eyes everyday.

Sometimes, the best photos are ones that are simple.
I love these. They are so not monumental.
Today was nice.

I pray you hear my voice in the music that I sent.

Agh! I watched this movie last Saturday. It is simply wonderful. The Young Victoria, I believe, portrays the characters in a fair way. The cinematography was breathtaking and the costumes were gorgeous. I would heartily recommend this to anyone who is fond of period films. And if you don't like those...well...I don't know what's wrong with you. I mean, who isn't fond of men with mustaches and sideburns dressed in waistcoats?! Sheesh!

Project update: I'm tea-dying a shirt as we speak. Maybe someday you'll see it!

Ohhhh Kathy

Because of my new fantastical camera, I've taken bunches of pictures. This past weekend my two gloriously curly-headed friends, Kate and Bethany, did a bird shoot based on Go Do by Jonsi. I'll post those soon.

I have so many thoughts on my mind, but I need to ration my thought sharing or else it will look like my mind threw up onto your computer screen. Graphic picture, but so true.

I guess the biggest thing on my mind is this:

People change. Things change. Friendships change. These facts of life have smacked me in the face this year. After 16 years of pretty much perfect friendships where the ones who mean the most last and the ones you don't need cancel out themselves, I have issues. (that was a horrific run-on)
So yeah. Don't hold on to things too dearly. Don't become friends with someone to quickly. Don't think that people will always be the same. and above all Do not base your happiness on a friend. Just don't do it. They'll unintentionally take your heart and stick it in a shredder.

After all this I need a disclaimer.
I have discovered all this this year. And yes, it's been a tough year. BUT. God has given me so much peace. I don't need other people to make me happy because I have Him.

Anyway. That's what's on my mind.

p.s. The title is from Hot Rod. I watched it for the first time last night and laughed until I cried. Ah. I love Andy Samberg

I'll be the one who keeps you guessing....swears alot

There are few things in this world I love right now as much as this song. Was that grammatically correct?
Mmm I love stylesightings

adkg;ajalkdjf I don't know what to call this.
Inhale
Close your eyes.
Exhale
See the world in your mind.
Run
Into the horizon.
Try
Try to reach to the Sun.
Blue
Turn your eyes to the clear sky.
Green
Sense the life around you.
Golden
Smile as the light bursts through the trees.
Cool
Dip your fingers into a trickling stream.
Sigh
Move with the Wind.
Sing
Sing to the God of Light.
Dance
Like a fool.
Be
happy.

Ah Tuesday, thanks for saving the week

The outfit above is terribly unmonumental. The picture is pretty horrible too. BUT I posted it to pay homage to the gorgeous green sweater Jamie got me for my birthday (un-birthday really) and the AMAZING t shirt that Jen got me. =)
Note: She's a folk singer named courtney marie andrews. LOVE. She is a bird with keys around her neck and she's talking to the mountains. It looks kind of creepy unless you know that....

Well today has been grand. I love Tuesdays. I really do. No more "sheesh's"

I took the science final that I was oh so worried about....and it was easy-peasy.
Oh projects: Last week, I cleaned out the playhouse in my backyard to make it a studio. (1) I went through all of my grandfather's old oil paints to see if they were good (2) AND I reconned a dress and a jacket (3). Three projects! Yes. SO that means. that I'm caught up! This week's project...I'm not sure. Something good. I could always finish that calvin&hobbes pillow....

OH WELL
Have a great Tuesday. I'm certainly having a swell one.
Bye dear friends.

Monday, May 3, 2010

little john, he always tells the truth.

Tomorrow, I have a final. Thursday, I have an art final (technically a critique).
Then I only have two subjects, two finals, and two weeks left before summer officially begins.
That is very exciting news.
Urg. I'm only blogging because I don't want to do other things that I should be doing.

The title is part of one of my favorite Vampire Weekend songs.

I woke up at five this morning to go play a nurses breakfast that started at seven that was thirty minutes away. That sentence was definitely not grammatically correct. Oh well. Anyway, I got home at nine and went upstairs to take a "short nap". I ended up sleeping until one. I have felt like a slug all day, but honestly, I only slept that long because I needed it.

And now, I'm going to study a little more before the four hours I spend at dance every Monday. Sheesh. I can't wait until summer because ballet will be over. Don't get me wrong, I love dancing, and I love all of the friends that I have at ballet. But I'm not sure if it's worth the eight to ten hours a week I spend there.

Sheesh.

Bye. I hope your Monday hasn't been as blue as mine has.
