Winterwear/List #2

It's so funny to think that this was just last week.

List #2: Resolutions.
*note: I pretty much don't like resolutions...they usually never come true. But I thought I'd try to list some of my goals for 2011*
In 2011 I want
1) To believe at least six impossible things before breakfast. (yeah I stole that one from Lewis Carrol)
2) To believe the best of people. Even when they aren't the best.
3) To start running again.
4) To acknowledge Jesus Christ's Lordship in my life.
5) To be openly happy more.
6) To work at Cedar Lake Camp with Jenny.
7) To practice at least 7 hours a week.
8) To really see all that's around me.
9) To learn not to look back.
10) To learn to look forward with caution.
11) To throw caution to the wind (uh I love a good oxymoron)
12) To create for my Creator.
13) To write more letters.
14) To really perceive others hurts.
15) To travel.
16) To smile more.
17) To make others smile more.
18) To love more.
19) To save for college.
20) To hold my faith above everything.

So there you go...some of my many goals for 2011.
What are your goals?

polkadots

I haven't posted an outfit photo in forever. In fact, I haven't posted in forever.

I love this skirt. Today the birds were migrating or something. They flew all over and made all kinds of racket.

Ah Tuesday, thanks for saving the week

The outfit above is terribly unmonumental. The picture is pretty horrible too. BUT I posted it to pay homage to the gorgeous green sweater Jamie got me for my birthday (un-birthday really) and the AMAZING t shirt that Jen got me. =)
Note: She's a folk singer named courtney marie andrews. LOVE. She is a bird with keys around her neck and she's talking to the mountains. It looks kind of creepy unless you know that....

Well today has been grand. I love Tuesdays. I really do. No more "sheesh's"

I took the science final that I was oh so worried about....and it was easy-peasy.
Oh projects: Last week, I cleaned out the playhouse in my backyard to make it a studio. (1) I went through all of my grandfather's old oil paints to see if they were good (2) AND I reconned a dress and a jacket (3). Three projects! Yes. SO that means. that I'm caught up! This week's project...I'm not sure. Something good. I could always finish that calvin&hobbes pillow....

OH WELL
Have a great Tuesday. I'm certainly having a swell one.
Bye dear friends.

More than one blog post a week!?

Crazy huh?
A person in my science class asked me if my dress was maternity.
Negative on that one.
I'm so excited about tonight and tomorrow and the rest of the days!

Just something:
The forest floor is carpeted with dead leaves and stray petals from the trees above.
A cool, green shadow is cast across my face, shading my eyes from the piercing sun.
Little feathered creatures are singing to eachother sweet, simple songs of love.
A swift breeze carries the scent of dogwoods and violets through this haven of mine.
Tiny insects are buzzing around my face, curious to see what I am.
Mischievous squirrels make themselves busy by chasing eachother around the trees.
I smile as all these things commmence, for this is my secret place.

I must go eat and go to the symphony now!

Outfit posts will be more frequent, I promise.
Sunday was lovely. Monday was a monday. Tuesday was nice. Today was glorious.
What will the rest of the week bring?

Maybe a camera? I've only waited forever...
I shall share what is written in my little book of musings in a future post.
Have sweet dreams.

Wednesday...how I love you so.

Wednesdays brighten my week.
So yeah, here's an outfit post!
*gasp*

I wore this weeks ago...I just never posted it.
I'm going through a little phase of over-inspiration. I don't know why, but it feels the same as being uninspired. Hmph. Anyway, have a lovely rest of the week! I will try to be more interesting in my next post.

I heard November Rain

I love this jacket, despite it's grandma appearance. The grey sweaterdress is definitely a new favorite as well. You have to love thrift stores!
My new leather purse deserves a post of its own. I love it so much.

I am not posting for any reason except...I'm on spring break this week!
The problem with being homeschooled is not of your spring breaks line up. Although I don't have Chatt State, I still have school at home and ballet. BUT STILL

I have a week to gather my thoughts and re-focus. I need to gain serious motivation as well. For the past week, I've been very very very apathetic about things. Basically, my laziness is killing me. I'm too lazy to eat, too lazy to practice, too lazy to study, too lazy to hang out with friends, or even too lazy to pray!
I've just breathed and things like that. But I haven't lived. SO spring break will be a time for me to do some spring cleaning in my room (because it needs it) and get creatively re-charged by spending some time in the Bible. I can't wait!

Oh, title...It's from the song On the Radio by Regina Spektor. I sang it tonight in a talent show! Some dear friends played instruments with me and they did so well!

I had a great weekend that was full of fun as well as work...but now I'm so glad it's over. I can truly begin to relax a little.

"There may be mermaids under the water...

There may even be a man in the moon,
Oh, but Vince your time is runnin' out.
You better get yourself together soon"
~M. Ward

What?! Outfit post?
I kinda love this silver top...alot.
It's one of the many items Jenny and I share.

No matte how hard I try, I always look ridiculous in these pictures...

One of my T-shirt scarves!

I haven't been blogging this week because we have guests!
My neighbors are staying here. Savannah is 12 and Emmaline (Elliot Smith?) is 7.
Ahhh I love the both! I haven't minded having three little sisters...

Anyway, project #6: Hem skirts! I have at least two skirts I've been meaning to hem...so..I'm going to!

Random note: I read the "Scarlet Pimpernel" yesterday. (yes, the whole thing) It was amazing.

Ha. If only he knew that I was (at one time) obsessed with earth tones...

Have a great Wednesday friends

Eliaura Danielle

I wish I could put this in parenthesis, because this is obviously not an outfit post...but whatever =) I took an old poncho and pushed it forward to make a scarf. This is definitely the first time I've ever done the "big scarf, little cardigan, little belt" thing..but I'm diggin it. Okay on to more important things.

Cheeks of rose, tiny toes,
Has our little baby;
Eyes of blue, fingers too,
Cunning all as may be.

Mouth so fair, skin so clear,
Just as soft as may be;
Bonny eyes, looking wise,
Such a precious baby.

Thee I love, sweetest dove,
Darling little baby!
While I live, thee I'll give
Kisses warm as may be.

Crow and play all the day,
Happy little baby!
May your life, free from strife,
Pure as 'tis today be.

This precious baby was born this morning at 9:30 after practically 18 hours of labor. She weighs 8 pounds 4 oz and is 21 (yes a whopping TWENTY ONE) inches long! She's gorgeous.

Have a great tomorrow!

Yeah, I prefer grey to sunshine.

I quite like the dead vines in our herb garden right now.

Project #2!

Outfit details: Shirt-my mom's...right out of the 70's
Shorts-Forever 21...mmm love

My mother says this gate is dingy...I think it's lovely.

I know this is weird, but railroad ties (spelling?) smell so good. I'm not kidding. They smell like trains and suit and a bygone age. Mmm I am determined to take a real live train ride across the US before I die.

I'm obsessed with little plastic clips.

Today was "Wear Red for Haiti" day. I pray God gives them hope.

I practically spent all afternoon daydreaming underneath the grey sky. It was sunshiny this morning, but the clouds rolled in by the afternoon.

a silly things I wrote the other night:

I attempt to find words that describe the night sky
I turn to see the silhouettes of two dear friends of mine
The ache in my heart prevents pure bliss
As I wonder
How many more nights will be like this?

(I seriously need to learn how to write...correct poetry...you know?)

Last piece of news: within the next 12-15 hours, I shall be a full-fledged aunt.

Goodnight you wonderful friends.

I'm in love with Vienna!

I just watched a movie from 1938 about Strauss. True, it was horribly filmed and acted, but the music made me reconsider the statement I've made saying that impressionistic music is my favorite...romantic music has a lot going for it.
I had a horrible day...
But looking back on it, I feel like it worked itself out. It's funny how God works...

I loved the vintage look of the picture of alyssa and the van, since I have an irrational fear of even numbers, I added this picture from a sleepover. I quite like the look of this.

It snowed where I live! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!?
seriously, it was majestical. I didn't take as many pictures as I wanted...but oh well. This one belongs in an Outdoor World catalog or something.

I kinda adore this dress that Jenny Garner and I share...Without the sweater, I looked very 60's with my hair =)

So I went thrifting today. Not hard-core thrifting. Just plain =) But I did find three things.
THING #1) An adorable plaid skirt that my wardrobe was lacking. It has big gold buttons down the side.
THING #2) The flannel shirt of my dreams. Actually, it's not even flannel, it's wool. Pendleton wool to be exact. It was $108 originally, I got it for $3. =) I love it because it's a real, lumberjacky...flannelly (wooly) shirt. Not a sissy shirt from a women's store.
THING #3) An off-white lace shirt. I have been looking for one of these since I saw this in a Free People catalog. It's not quite the same, but it's beautiful and I'm so Psyched that I found it!

Bad day turned good.
BAM!

Have a beautiful Wednesday!

With my slip, showing a little

Like a drunk but not.-Regina Spektor

Hello folks!
Week #1 is coming to a close. I'm so happy to tell you that I'm going to finish my room today! All that's left are some quick, simple things. *sigh* this feels great.
The picture above is from my Aunt's house...I took it in the bathroom, because I felt silly...haha oh well.
Pothead?

I love The Clothes Horse, especially when she does a picture an hour posts. So I thought I'd try it. Here's a day from my vacation in Charlotte: 10:00 a.m Wake up (hey it's vacation! don't judge!)
