A few thoughts from...

you guessed it, the Chatt state library...why am I always here?

Thought #1) I smell like developer, stop, and fixer combined. Yuck. but it was so worth it!
#2) I've been thinking (oh no...) Okay, so this morning my youth pastor randomly (what's new? =]) spouts out "Oh, by the way, my sister's dying."

WHAT? By the way!?

So apparently, she has had many many problems in the past and was put in a group home for mentally impaired people. She had a brain-tumor removed, and a cyst (sp?) grew where the whole was. She's having a brain surgery next week. My youth pastor told us all this at starbucks this morning, completely honest, completely normal, unflinching. We prayed for him and Faith 9the name of his sister) when it was my turn, I teared up and it was all I could do to not cry...how is he dealing with this?
The thing I've been thinking about is, is it better that a person like that dies? What is God going to do with that person if they live?
Thought #3) our computer is slowly but surely completely dying...I hope it lives a little longer.

Anyway, have a great rest of the day...and please pray for Faith.

Hello lovelies.

I'm home! I couldn't be more enthused about that. I love sleeping and hanging out with my family, but I yearned for the hum-drumness of my everyday life.
I'm so tired and lazy that I'm not even going to ATTEMPT to upload any pictures that I took (don't worry, there aren't many) I'm just going to tell you that I had a wonderful trip, but I hope I never go to Branson again.

The colors are so gorgeous. When we left, the leaves were still green and God hadn't gotten out his gold-leaf (get it?) and his handy dandy paintbrushes (stocked full of orange and red pain)...(you know, this post is a jumble of my thoughts...sorry about that)

ANYWHO,
I came back and it's crisp and beautiful. Except the rain. Oh, please, no more rain...

wow. Okay, I'm going to go now...

Oh my goodness!

I'm sitting in the Chattanooga State library on a friday...weird. Actually, I just retook my test and (although I didn't do as well as I wanted) I scored ten points higher than before. So hooray!
I've had a relatively rough day and I'm so ready for my friends to come over and us to talk about God. That always makes me feel great.
Out of some weird mistake we now have 100+ channels on our tv. I wouldn't really care that much except three of those channels include Foodnetwork, Turner Classic Movies, and Lifetime (this i only care for because of Project Runway).
The rest of today's going to be very very very strange and crazy. I have to go home and make my house semi-presentable before people come over, finish a chronological something or other on 2nd Tim. 2, read a chapter of DWYL (because I forgot to), and maybe make snacks. MAYBE.
After my dear friends leave I have to pack for an weeklong vacation in Branson, MO. I'm so excited about getting out of the house and just relaxing. Although I don't have a laptop, so I won't be able to upload any pictures, I'm pretty sure I'll be able to log on at the resort we're staying at and at least say hello.
Anyway have a fantastic rest of the day, it's almost closing time for the library and I must leave =)

p.s. It's FREEZING OUTSIDE! XD that makes me so happy. Stay warm.

2 more things...

I can't believe I'm posting twice in one day! anywho

1) Look! It's me! I was featured! Yay!
2) Oh dear I got a Chictopia...what was I thinking?

HAVE A GOOD DAY!

I promise that's it...for now

3 (fast) things from the chatt state library

okay, thing numer uno, I (basically passed but) FAILED a math test, AGAIN! What the heck?! is this going to be a regular thing for me? There WERE only 16 questions...but still....UGH. so I have to study like CRAZY so I can retake it tomorrow, before the chapter is closed...UGH.

#2, I woke up this morning with a super super super bad headache and couldn't go to sleep. I still have the headache.....UGH

#3. Wade Johnston & the Navigators (his band) had a photoshoot. It's pathetic and uncreative. The band's great, the photographer's stupid (check it out for yourself HERE )

Okay I'm late for Math...I am so confused about this class. I sit in class forever talking about super easy stuff, then I go fail tests.

Adios

I AM SECURE *STOMP*

I pretty much love this outfit. And I will definitely be wearing tights more often.

Oh it's been an interesting day. It started off, wayyy to early, but that's fine. Then I spent the afternoon doing homework with an old friend and a new one! It was very fun and I actually got a ton done.

Well after that, I went to church and was the topic of the baritone's conversation in choir. They were discussing my "interesting get-up" (as mr. Armao called it)...oh well. Bethany and I were pretty loopy because of the early morning, but it was so fun! Wow, I'm going on vacation Saturday...I haven't even thought past tomorrow.

when your eyes are all painted so natural blue...

So I'm pretty sure I am overloading by putting all of these pictures in ONE post...sorry 'bout that. This was the Sat. after Preview weekend. Sara and I ran around downtown-it was fantastic.
I was trying to climb the wall in the above picture-to no avail.
Hey! That's my camera! =)
Ahhahaha This was my imitation of someone who performed at "Mountain Affair" (he was a spectacular musician...but an over-the-top performer)

Although the picture above was a fail (ahem, SARA) I do like it =)

I threw this in for Sara...This guy walked around Covenant with TWO GINORMOUS cameras...we were so jealous.
mmmm The title. *british Sara*

I love this dress-it's totally my new favorite!

you see, I rolled down the hill..then I was VERY dizzy...

I've had a good week so far. I'm in an awkward point in my year right now, kinda in-between...Weird. Yesterday, I retook the test I "flunked" and got an EXCELLENT grade, that I'm happy with. YAY! Today, I processed the Jenny film, and I must say, a couple of the pictures are gorgeous, you're so cute Jen. I've been pretty content lately and that feeling is really good. BUT I've also felt incredibly creative, but I don't have any outlets! I have no time to sit and paint or draw or sew or crochet or write or ANYTHING (ugh)...the other day, for a literature assignment, I wrote haikus. These are my two favorites:

My long hair tangles
The harsh wind blows harsher still
Fall's monster, set free

Bright reds and yellows
Falling, swirling, and spiraling
Calm leaves, now chaos

Ha, I just did a silly facebook thing called "status cloud". Stupid as it was, it's interesting to see what words I've said most in my status. Here's my personal favorites: Christmas, Day, Ever, Friends, Happy, Home, Know, Life, Love, Really, Sings, Something, Song, Things, Time, Today and Tomorrow.
The ironic things: God, is right next to Good. I know that's alphabetical...but it's true! Apparently I talk about cocaine...

Anyway, have a great rest of the week. I promise, once I figure out how to work my scanner, I'll post pictures that I've printed!

I couldn't think of a clever title so I put this.

My oh-so-happy floral skirt....
This is what we did today =) Oh yay for family pictures...hahahaha I love my family...
This is the trail that's randomly in my neighborhood. I took Jen there to take pictures. I want to show it to everyone. The trail starts on a street and ends in some other world with gorgeous colors and amazing textures. Can you believe people drive their four-wheelers around it?!

We were basically trapped inside the fort when it started pouring rain! LOOK! A RAINBOW! That made my day.

Hanging out with Jen on Friday was pretty much the best thing ever. I've missed her so much! We're resolved that it's going to happen more often. I've had a great weekend, but now it's time to buckle down and start the week. Ew.

Some thoughts from the Chatt State Library

Ugh, well today started off not so good. First of all, remember when I flunked that test last week? Well, I get a chance to retake it! I was going to study and take it today but I forgot my student Id...so....yeah

Ah I'm also completely exhausted due to some incredibly late nights and early mornings for the past week.

Oh, ( last thing...sorry) I'm also wearing this ridiculous necklace that I got from my friends. They dared me to wear it...so I am. I look pretty eccentric today.

Alright, I'm going to do some math. I'll review and study and such so that on Tuesday, I will TAKE my test. And it will be great...I hope.

Talk to you later, dears.

Eet

I love this delicate rose necklace. My friends had a magic basket full of old costume jewelry that they let me dig through. I have found some wonderful little pieces. Today was sunny

I don't know why, but I felt like an indian today. I had my hair all braided and this organic, flowy shirt on and beads...call me crazy. So, I just found out that I'm going to have Jenny over on Friday! I haven't really hung out with her since the Summer so I'm SUPER excited.I'm pretty sure we're going to have a photo shoot for photography and it's going to be sick-nasty. (be jealous)

To explain the title-

I vaguely remember being aware of Regina Spektor's new album "Far" coming out in the summer. I didn't hear any of it 'til this week. It's absolutely amazing! A lot of the lyrics are centered around this idea of God. Which, although her theology is WAY off, I think she is starting to ask questions and I think she's searching, which is great. Anyway, I would TOTALLY recommend it. It's completely clean and completely beautiful.

I'm going to go now, but I hope your Thursday is jubilant.

Tuesday, October 6, 2009

Oh dreary days, why are you back again? I was all in grey and black and such on Sunday...how depressing.
Today I was channeling the 80's with all my might. haha I had my hair in a high ponytail...but that was too much. I have such an exciting story to tell!

Okay, so remember the film that I messed up at Covenant!? I processed it this morning, just to see what would happen and (drum roll) IT WAS FINE! I only lost about six pictures. The rest will be a little grey, because light hit the film, but I still HAVE them to work with. It was so obviously a miracle. God is so loving and good. Well I really don't have much time to do much. I need to go to sleep and finish homework. I have an extremely early morning again tomorrow. I promise I'll finish posting pictures from Saturday with Sara...sometime! =D

I will post more tomorrow, Lovelies.

Mary

OH-Announcement: Noah and the Whale's new cd was released in the US today! hooray! =) So go buy it.

Mary Emily Vatt

is having one of those days where you want to just sleep alot and then do something extreme...like cut your hair really short and buy an accordion...
That's really how I feel right now.
So I'm going to do homework. I'll write about my life and these pictures tomorrow.

I was in love with the place...

Lame I know, but I FINALLY cleaned my room. It's amazing and I love it. So there, I'm proud!

I indulged a whim...On Tuesday, I thought about how wonderful it would be to get gray nailpolish. Wednesday, I did.
I love this grey t-shirt of my brothers, it's so very big and soft. I wore thi sthe first day of Covenant College's Preview Weekend! (which was so amazing!)

I was alot more colorful yesterday! I like how it sorta matches the tapestry! I love covenant. Everyone there is really creative and musical and just great. I stayed with two very sweet freshmen! Plus, I got to see Micah! I haven't seen him since he left. He was great. Haha Some guys at his table thought I was his little sister. I pretty much am so...
Sad story time. I took a bunch of beautiful pictures on my camera. While rewinding the film, I forgot to press the release button. So, the film ripped. I had to go into my roommate's closet-which probably isn't light tight, and manually take the film off the reel, roll it up, and put it in a black, maybe light tight, film canister. I hope more than anything I salvaged some of those pictures! We'll see when I process them on Tuesday.
On Thursday night, there was an intense game of "battle-ball" held in the gym. It was so funny to watch and the energy was super high! Jamie, Bethany, and Sara don't look very entertained... =]
We took a trek to the "art barn". It was such a beautiful night! I love covenant and really hope I can go there in a couple of years.

They had a talent show called "Mountain Affair" on Friday. I'll tell you guys about that tomorrow, maybe! I'm going to go to bed now.

Three things from the Chatt State Library

Well, First of all, I just took a precal test and technically passed. But I definitely failed...
Second =) I'm wearing grey nail polish.
Third-I saw this kid a couple weeks ago who looks just like paolo nutini. Now he's in the library...sigh...that just makes me smile.

have a better day than I'm having.
